I picked one of these up a few weeks ago and have had some really good success with it. I had been struggling in a new house all year. I averaged 212 last year and am at 195 this year. This house is so dry outside of ten that I have had real problems. Every time I miss right, I end up hitting high due to an extreme over reaction. Pull the ball a bit and you end up high as well. Most of the better bowlers in this house play very deep, but that is not my strength.
The KI pearl allows me to play a nice 15 to 10 swing. If I miss a bit right it doesn't over hook. If I pull it a touch it tends to hold the line. Carry is also very good.
I had a 758 with the KI pearl tonight. I had not cracked 700 this year until I got this ball. This was a real relief as I am accustomed to getting 5-10 700+ series each year.
I also have the KI sanded. This ball also rolls sweet, but I rarely have enough oil to use it.
These balls are very good, but they sold poorly. I rarely have seen others throw them. Why were the KI such flops? I think you have a nice strong core and a choice of a nice skid snap pearl or an early rolling solid reactive. What's not to like?
The One was a huge success and deservedly so. The KI is also good but a sales failure. Was it marketing?
What went wrong?
My KI pearl is drilled with the pin 5 inches from PAP at finger height and the MB left of the thumb.

I think a lot of any balls 'history' has to do with when it came out and what was new at that time. We bowlers think we must have the latest and greatest, at least some do, and if a ball came out against something that someone had great luck with, people will flock to that ball. I can't remember what was out against the KI's, but I'd be willing to bet that the 'latest and greatest' took sales from it.
I know several folks that had and still have the KI's and love the ball. As I have always felt, some balls just don't work for some folks, no matter how it's laid out, conditions or style, just doesn't work. Why ? Beats me, just how I feel. I could be wrong, but sounds like you have found a ball that 'fits' you and that's great ! I'm sure you'll have many great games !
Good Luck and Happy Bowling !

I had a KI pearl and it was an awesome ball. Mine cracked at the bridge but I feel it happened because the holes were drilled to close together.
