« on: April 18, 2004, 06:24:43 AM »
I recently purchased one froma member here on BR. Havent got it yet, but am trying to figure out what I am gonna get from it. I currently own a Super Freak for heavy oil. Could someone  compare the 2 balls?? Is this ball a hook monster?? Should i drill it max hook?? if so what can i expect?? All help is greatly appreciated. Thansk. Kyle

The Killer Instinct is a great hooking ball out of the box (I shot 300 the second game). Unfortunately, it soaks up oil so fast that you'll spend more time baking it than bowling with it. Keep it as clean as possible and don't be afraid to touch it up with a little scotch bright between uses

I got another question. The one i recieved was with pin about ring. CG in palm. And the Bomb was right of thumb. I looked it up on ebonites site and it says thats dor a delayed reaction with lot of backend. So will this ball be ok drilled like that on heavy?? Or should i changed the drilling?? LMK. Thanks. Kyle

The Killer Instinct will be a stronger ball then the Super Freak on movement wise. I went to a demo days right when they came out and here is my opinion on it. I think if you took it and drilled it up 4*4 or something it will work. But for a everyday right when you get out on the lanes its not that great of a ball. I think the Killer Instinct Pearl is the best ball out there in the Ebonite Line. I took the Killer INstinct Pearl to a house shot and I killed the pocket and everything. Then I took it to a Sport Shot and I killed it. I think for a everyday ball on any condition this ball is the best of both. Mess with the surface a little bit when you get it that will help you out in the long run.

i was amazed how much this ball will burn up on heavier shots even.. UNLESS you are bowling on REAL oil.. i'm talking 46-48 foot heavier sport shots, i wouldn't recomend drilling it for roll.. i was disapointed at demo days b/c everything was drilled for max movement and it burned hard.. it still hit amazingly but i didn't like the reaction unless i was on the 46 and 48 ft sport shots they had out for us, the THS was not nearly enough to keep it from burning.. I would leave that drill on it if you want something to give you a different look from the super freak... just my .02

Well I heard with this drilling it would go too long on heavier shots.

You know what?  Take a chance, and if it doesn't work, I'll gladly take it off your hands for the cost of shipping!

Seriously, the worst that can happen is it goes too long, then you can redrill it, or resurface it.
