Question about the Mission
« on: May 06, 2010, 11:28:59 AM »
What leads people to state that this ball is a pearl reactive other than it looking like one due to the color being red pearl. Is there some source where it shows it to be a pearl reactive? I don't see it on the Ebonite website or any other marketing ad sheet I have seen.

Where did you get this info? Source? The color being Red Pearl doesn''t make the ball a pearl reactive.

At the Mission seminar we were told that the ball is a pearl. I don't remember the persons name from the seminar but he was up on one of the top rungs of the food chain there

I am on Staff. Sold quite a few of these. IT IS A PEARL.
The 2000 grit gives it a dull appearance.
Hope this answers your question.

Yeah, like Zack said. Any ball with pearl in the color name is a pearl ball. That effect is from putting mica in the resin. That is how they get the look and thats how they make a pearl ball. If it looks like a pearl ball then it is, always.

All I know is the ball works and gave me my second 300 of my career in the 3rd full game with it.  The description from Ebonite is a little misleading as usually they will state in the coverstock description if it is a pearl, but all they mention is XL1200 Reactive.  I guess with polish it might come off looking like a pearl.  Frankly, I got it to replace my Jigsaw as my tournament/heavy oil ball and I am not disappointed.  Another good piece from Ebonite.

Also, It carries the corner pins better then Storm equipment right now..just ask Liz Johnson last night as Kelly Kulick smoked her with I think the same Mission she beat Chris Barnes for the TOC with.

Nice!!

How can you say that a ball carries better than another when different people are throwing it with two COMPLETELY different styles. Thats just a false statement in my opinion.

I have stopped using Roto & Storm because of this ball. My first one has well over 350 games on it now. Last night I resurfaced it for a 5th time and took it to league and puched out another 720+ series (only person in the house to shoot 700) Since I started using this ball my carry percentage has gone through the roof. The only other ball that I have ever thrown that gave me this sort of carry was the Cell Pearl.

Yeah, I think Hopkinsville finally got it's ship right this year. If you have everything in the Columbia line, and then throw in a Mission and a few of the better Track balls and you have everything you could ever want in terms of ball reaction.

Still can't bump out that Hy-Road though.
