my guess is it was the lighting he used.  The flash probably threw off the colors.  I agree he must be nuts asking that price.

I have two and one of them has phasing in it similar to this one and it's actually my favorite of the two. A lot of this happen during the pouring process and how it's mixed. I have an undrilled Equation with a lot of phazing similar to this, it happen with all ball manufacturers from time to time. Just my $.02, Bruce
P.S. He must be proud of it to be asking that much, most pro shop have marked them down to get rid of a discontinued ball.
