between my Game changing and excellent drilling advice from eBonite ball reps at a demos days Ebonite is now my Number one choice. especially the V2 series.
I was practing today and didn't want to abuse my go to equipment. lanes were a little used but not bad. a track area was formed and the heads were getting a little thin. I threw a couple with my V2 particle and polished strong to read the lanes. too easy to strike so I grabbed a used Vicious attack and practiced with that. the ball was starting to ping alot of tens after a few games.
so I decided to practice the twig shot. I take out the V2 dry and proceed to throw a couple of game switch that. back to stringing strikes. the ball reads the dry very well. it doesn't play with oil nicely at all. if I tugged it and I caught some of the oil line I would get weak hits. 5 pins.
if I caught no head oil it arced nicely and smashed the pocket. even going Brooklyn a few times. if I caught just a smidgen of head oil I would get a more angular look and later breakpoint. that also crushed the pocket.
the house oils and buff fairly long. so short 32 foot light oil pattern maybe the ticket for this ball. definitely late shift is where this ball will shine.
Maybe because the V2 line has been around so long or maybe there are no fancy core names or design to get people talking, but this equipment is definitely underrated on this board and by a lot of league bowlers.
I have seen claims on here that ebonite rolls to early. I think that is an incorrect statement. it revs early so it read the dry very well. I yet to see it grab early. maybe for those with 400 rpm they do. but for strokers and tweeners I think the balls are excellent in the carry and reading of the lanes.
I can see why "E" keep the the V2 series going strong. It may be the best value out there.
I am now a complete V2 series fanatic.

I am currently looking at replacing my Lane 1 stuff with V2 equipment. If I could just find a damn V2 Pearl

Jeff, maybe I dreamed it, but I thought someone on this site talked to Brian Pursell just a few days ago and that he said that if you will polish a V2 Sanded, you will have the same thing as a V2 Pearl. Also that the V2 sanded is the only reactive cover that you can turn into a Pearl by sanding it. as I said, maybe I dreamed it, but I don't think so.
