Maverick Pearl
« on: July 22, 2017, 02:44:58 PM »
Hello Folks,
I'm looking for a STRONG pearl so I am considering the Maverick Pearl so for those that are using it could you tell your feelings about it and its been a while since I bought an Ebonite ball so I have to ask, do the covers last a lot longer now, also feel free to suggest another STRONG pearl.

Thanks, Jake

I know what you mean about urethane as this summer I have been throwing the Brunswick BTU a lot in fact I liked it so much that I bought another one so I have one with a pin under which I keep dull and the other one with a pin up with polish and I have been killing it :)

I'm in 3 leagues and where I bowl its always a crap shoot as far as  the THS shot will be but generally the BTUs work in game two and game three while sometimes a oiler will work for all three games.

Well there you go.  That new BTU pearl would probably make a good weak pearl as well.
Kind of noob when made this account so take advice with grain of salt.

So I picked it up last night and threw it in league and wow! did I have over/under hell, ouch!

They put out a lot of oil for once and there must have been an extra liter or two right at the break point (right handed)

SO since it was league I used it only for one game and so I'll try it again tonight and in practice if I get the same reaction I'll try hitting it with a used 4K abralon pad to take off the shine.

Sorry to hear.  Yeah I usually keep mine at 3000 unpolished.  The ball goes so long naturally it really doesn't need polish.  I have such low revs as well that over/under tends to be less of issue for me in general (its up the boards for me even with this piece sigh).  I think you will find it more useful with the polish knocked off.  If you are dealing with a flood again though might want to go lower than 4000.

Maverick Pearl is great for medium. Got My Verdict today. Looking forward to oily conditions. New Cover. can't wait.  Let us know when you change the surface how it works for you.
