CONCLUDING COMMENTS

Carry:
I tend to steer away from commenting upon ball carry as any ball, with the right drilling, and utilized on the appropriate condition, will strike at will, alternatively, any ball can flat ten etc.

Moving forward, the Pursuit-S is built upon 3-piece construction (Veneer/Filler/Core). My first shot OOB resulted in a successful messenger directed at the 10-pin. As I was getting a feel for the ball, stone 4-pins coupled with 3-6-10’s indicated early that I was dealing with a strong piece of equipment. I adjusted accordingly and continually chased the Modified THS oil inside due to the angularity of the Pursuit-S.  Due to my tilt and axis rotation, my equipment will continuously drive past the 9-pin and sure enough, during my practice session I left 3 stone 9-pins. No scouts, no messengers, just a solid 9-pin with no love to take it out. Initially, my first impression is that the ball definitely drives through the 1-3 pocket with some “force,” but I will check for the same power level in about 25-50 games, and therein after.

Likes: Primarily, I am enjoying the Pursuit-S’ ability to retain energy. Of course some of that is indicative of the drilling I chose…which inherently enhances the characteristics of the Pursuit-S.

Aversions: Without the proper volume to support the Pursuit-S’ surface strength OOB, higher rev rate players will want to adjust the surface, or perhaps polish over the top of the OOB level. Despite the Pursuit-S’ surface level @ 800 Abralon/1500 Abranet, it is in my opinion equivalent to an Abralon 2000 finish.

Before adjusting the surface level, try rolling the Pursuit-S OOB first, and then make a determination consequently. I will likely continue to roll the Pursuit-S at the OOB level and allow the ball to oil shine, evaluate the reaction once again, then determine whether or not to adjust the surface / potential polish level.

So how do you like your Pursuit-S’ now that you have had it awhile? this ball seems pretty interesting to me.

Plus I havent bought an EBO ball in years and this particular one sounds like its calling me :)

Could you or anyone who is using this ball tell me what conditions you use it on and the pros/cons of it,

Thanks, Jake
Now throwing pretty much all flavors...

Jake,
--I attempted to let the Pursuit-S oil shine and unfortunately due to my rev rate, and the out-of-box surface, the ball was simply too strong unless I encountered higher volume Kegel Patterns etc.

The reaction generated via "OOB" is very STRONG...essentially the Pursuit-S, based upon my specs and drilling, would glide naturally through the heads, however, there was a distinct and powerful arc beginning at the mid-lane.  If I chased enough deep inside oil, the ball would give me the same roll characteristics, but it was either weak-10, or possibly 2-8-10 if it couldn't climb the hill.  You could see that too much energy was being expelled at that mid-lane.

Fast forward a few weeks, and after utilizing a worn 2000 pad (likely 2500 now), I was able to get a fantastic reaction.  The ball saves more energy and gives me exactly what I was looking for as I needed to replace a similar ball+drilling.  Instead of violently strong mid-lane, it is now reserved/mild giving me a smoother reaction off the spot.  I tried the update surface change in my sport league (2012 Nationals Pattern), and had a decent look playing 15-to-8 on Brunswick Anvilane with overlays.
________
THS: too strong for me "OOB," had to adjust the surface to 2500'ish, now the ball stores energy instead of burning up early.
2012 Nationals: predictable 15-8 (after breaking down the shot with urethane for 1-game)
Kegel Dead Man's Curve: had to play a very accurate break point marker of 12 using soft hand|laydown at 18, crossing 15/13 at the arrows|
