Ebonite NITRO & CRUSH/R Remakes at SportMart

Hi Everyone,

Ran into the local Sportsmart this weekend and lo and behold...

I encountered "Re-Makes," of the Orginal Nitro Urethane and CRUSH/R Reactive Resin bowling balls.

Both balls did not come in the Original Colors.

Nitro Urethane = Dark Blue Pearl with Neon Green Lettering (Website has Orange lettering though) (Same Original Logo)

CRUSH/R = Black/Grey/White Swirl Pearl (Looks pretty much like the BIG TIME and looks nothing like the Original RED W/YEllow Lettering)

Boxes indicate only weight and Top Weight is left blank. All balls that I saw have 0-1 inch pins.

FYI = Right now the Crush/R is $49.97 and the Nitro is $39.97 I Believe.
Does anyone have any information on these balls? Are they using the same Cores and Coverstocks?

I might pick up a CRUSH/R just to relive my youth. Paul "The Pizz," do you have any info?

I think they only licensed the name to Sportmart. Both are most likely Pancake weightblocks.

These are not the same balls. They are crap balls with the use of the old names. Ebonite sells these balls to the discount sporting goods stores.. You will be sorry if you buy these.  beans

They're basically Tornado Warnings, 1 Urethane and one with the Supertack Plus cover.

THEY ARE 3 PIECE WITH PANCAKE CORES. HAVE BOTH OF THEM PLUS MEGA X PARTICLE(ALSO 3 PIECE WITH PANCAKE). USE THEM ON LOW OIL SYNTHETIC LANES AND VERY OLD WOOD LANES. BEST BALLS I HAVE ON THOSE CONDITIONS. VERY PREDICTABLE AND GOOD CARRY DEPENDING ON TYPE OF BOWLER YOU ARE.
