Comparisons please, Big One, Scorchin', Arsenal Reactive
« on: March 04, 2006, 03:08:09 AM »
Looking for a Low Rg, symmetrical core oiler to pick up next.
Comparisons please? (posted in all three forums due to the, shall we say, potentially less than unbiased responses)...
Looking only for anyone who has thrown 2-3 of these candidates, not the probabilities from stats please.

Scorchin is much earlier then the big one with less backend cover about the same amout overall( scorchin is a touch stronger) but the big one is better on most house shots because it does retain energy alot better than the scochin does. It all depends on where your going to throw it and how often you want to use it.

I have not thrown the Schorchin but, I have owned the Atsenal Reactive and I own the big one. I used to use my AR for medium/Heavy until I got the big one. The Big One is very versatile which the AR is not. The AR is just so picky with how much oil is present. I could only use mine of lanes with LOTS of head oil or VERY long patterns. Overall, the Big One handles the same amonuts of oil than the AR but, still rolls good in a bit lighter conditions also. The Big One will move ALOT more boards than the AR on any condition though! I would care to wager that the Big One will be stronger than the schorchin with some surface prep (sanding) on big oil!

i know i answered this in the brunswick forum ,but to reiterate the big one hands down, i watched guys struggle to get to the pocket on a reverse block shot where the only shot was in the oil up the boards and my big one out performed them all in oob condition.I am a low speed low rev high track bowler and i found that the less i tried to do with the ball the better it performed. my first game fishing was 134 then as i got comfortable and realized where the shot was 192 and last game 230 with the last 6 and a 9 count. this ball is teaching me how to bowl the more i use it. U have to have oil to use it properly . this ball impresses me more and more everytime i use it especially when i see other guys using all the other stuff and washing out from the same line i am playing. my friend was bowling with an absolute and a gp2, i gave him my ball to use and his first comment was thia ball is gonna do the same as every other ball, I said ok try it. he thru it twice and said that ball is definetyl stronger . he thru it for the whole set didnt qualify ,but i think i might have sold a ball for ebonite. this ball will hook all u have do to is make the proper read and it will carry where most other stuff wont.

Not even close, being able to use the Big One is like cheating.  Not fair
