Need help picking an Ebonite ball

I am needing to purchase a new ball for nationals in New Mexico. I currently have a total nv which works well on medium oil. I need a ball for long and heavy oil. I am a low to med rev player with speed about 18-21 mph. I love my nv which I have the pin in above my fingers. If I purchase another nv place the pin out and dull it, do you think it will work for me on a tournament shot?

The NVS rolls sooner than the TNV and can handle more oil. Question is, what makes you think the Nationals pattern will be heavy oil for the comming year?

blue, the tournament shot has always had more oil both in volume and in length than what I am acustomed to. I have always had a problem with getting the ball to the pocket. I have yet to find a true oil ball that works for me. After reading some post on here I have looked at and reviewed about the visionary line of bowling balls and they seem to be so far what I need for a long oil pattern,thanks Drrev.

Ok...I was just wondering. I bowl on the Nationals shot every Tuesday and anything inside of 10 has alot of free hook area.

Thanks for asking blue, I am left handed and I usually play around  5 or 6 board. I have more speed than revs. I thought about the nvs but have been told by more than one pro shop owner to stay away from pearl coverstocks because of my low rev rate. I do thank you for your suggestion.

get a resurgence if you want ebonite, ebonite owns them, same thing

I am in the same boat as you. Low rev and high speed. So far the only ball that has worked for me is the Resergence. I have The One, TNV, had a Furry and the Resergence matched up really well for heavy oil or longer patterns. Can't go wrong with it! Still have to slow the ball speed down but it will turn.
