need some input
« on: October 21, 2007, 08:06:08 AM »
my uncle has an ebonite NV, and totally loves the ball.  only thing ive done to is kept it oob and just polished it with storm xtra shine.  getting another NV will be tough, but wanted to look into getting either a TOTAL NV or a NVS.  i wanted some feedback on which would be a better fit in regards to same reaction  etc.  he's a senior bowler, throws about 12+ mph, 14lb equip or heavy 13lb, has decent about of revs and tracks hi.  any help would be great.

thx..andy

IMO the NVS is a better ball and closer to the NV than the Total NV.

HEY AZGUY,

THANKS FOR THE INPUt.  i've been leaning towards the NVS.  i saw the ladies roll it on tv and i liked the reaction.  my uncle is a mostly a down and in bowler but has played a little inside.  again thanks for the input..andy

The biggest difference between the Total NVS and the NVS is the higher-friction coverstock on the NVS.  The NVS will read more in the oil and will start its move slightly sooner than the Total NV, giving it a little less of the hockey stick shaped skid/snap reaction.  It would be closer to the solid NV in reaction, though still longer and with a harder bite off the dry in the back.

oh.. i forgot to add.. my uncle has been consistenly holding a 170+ avg.. it would be higher if he converted a few more spares, and he currently bowls on 3 leagues.  wow.. if i only could do that when im his age..

hey dan...

thanks for the input.  from what you said, the NVS would be comparable to the NV.  I wish ebonite would make more.  i saw one on ebay and the guy was selling it for $525.00.  now that was ridiculous.

thanks for the feedback.. andy
