anybody know what the recommended cleaner for the one is?i cant find the recomendation anywhere?

Acetone is an industrial cleaner not very often recommended for cleaning bowling balls (at least not on a regular basis) that I'm aware of. They use it to clean the extra super-glue off after putting inserts in and such. I would believe that an Ebonite rep would tell you to use one of their products, perhaps the Powerhouse Energizer Ball Cleaner that Ebonite markets... See the link below.

Otherwise, Track's Clean-N-Dull (soon to be replaced by Clean-N-Tacky) is said to be excellent for all brands of equipment. Also Neo-Tac Hook-It should work for regular cleaning as well...

Acetone is a very flammable solvent that you can get in paint and hardware stores. Its primary use is as a paint remover and degreaser. It is also used in the chemical and pharmacuetical industry. It will soften and can actually break down materials like plastic. It is listed as an illegal material to be used on bowling balls last I knew. If that has changed, my bad. Acetone can soften ball grips, make them tacky feeling and will actually break down the glue used for lifts. I would not recommend using it on a regular basis for bowling balls.

To answer the question, I have found Brunswick's Remove All to be one of the best cleaners I have even used.

Tracks Clean N Dull is the best cleaner on the market bar none! End of story.

I also highly recommend Clean n Dull. It does a great job by hand. Lately though, I have been using some 99% Isopropyl alcohol first, which easily removes really stubborn belt marks, then finish up with the Clean n Dull. Excellent results doing it this way, and you don't use as much Clean n Dull either. I've also started experimenting using a green scotch-brite to apply the Clean n Dull on the dull finish balls and really like the results, though it made my Mutant (1500 smooth oob) too early for my house shot. I'll probably try a grey scotch-brite next time for it to get just a little more length.

Clean n Dull will not change the surface of the ball. Shiny stays shiny, and dull stays dull. That being said, I would bet if you used Clean n Dull with a spinner and applied lots of pressure, you could probably put some shine on a dull ball. Doing it by hand, I've never had a problem.

track has clean and dull and clean and tacky, some people, because of the name
clean and dull, worry that it will reduce the shine on polished balls, so track has brought out clean and tacky.
actually they will both work on any ball.

does using a different brand cleaner then the ball really matter?would ebonites powerhouse enigizer cleaner work best on an ebonite ball,or not necessarilly? or would tracks clean n dull or brunswicks remove all actually work better on the one,then ebonites own product?i just want to buy one cleaner and i want what will work the best.thanks alot for all the advise so far.

As a general rule, with some differences, all cleaners will work on just about any ball. The brand does not only work on that brand of ball.

Now, there are cleaners, daily type, and things like Clean N Dull, that will clean but also remove oil. Those are different from say, Storm Reacta Clean.

IMO, you need two cleaners, one for a daily useage and something like Clean N Dull, to help remove oil from the ball.

Some will differ from that statement, but that's the way I feel.

Keep using Acetone if you want to have to replace your equipment every couple months. The New coverstocks are too sesitive to use Acetone and react by becoming brittle and more prone to cracking.
