Why did they bring back the Classic balls, maybe it is because they could not thank of any more names.

gostorm, they brought back the classics because they did a vote on the ebonite website on which 5 balls were the most popular of all time. they are bringing some of them back because ebonite cares what the consumers think. thats what sets ebonite a part from the rest of the other ball companies.

dont u have some balls to sniff? LOL

Also, these balls were GREAT balls for their time and they sold. If they can make them now to preform the same as they did before but on todays conditions, these re-releases will be a hit. Plus everyonw is doing it, ebonite, hammer, storm

So, what's the difference between the V2 Strong/R and the Vortex V2 Strong/R???

AND

Since there is no difference in the specs between the Ice and the Black Ice, what accounts for the difference in length and overall hook numbers? There seems to be no apparent difference in the core or in the description of the coverstock, other than the color, of course.

I think they did a great job with some of the colors on the Tornado's.  The black, red, and orange one is sweet looking.

My thoughts and speculations, if anyone cares...

XXXCel - Earlier than the XXCel, a teeny bit longer than the XCel Particle?  Obviously earlier than the XCel Pearl.  Seems basically like a reactive XCel, rather strong it seems...probably strong in the backend too.  Perhaps what the Killer Instinct should have been?

Big Time Pearl - Does seem close to the original Big Time, but if the cover is pearlized, then I can clearly see the difference.  Should be longer than the original, perhaps stronger in the backend too?  Very sharp looking too!

V2 Power - Dual flip blocks should give this thing a kick in the backend, looks like a strong cover around it also...no particle it looks like also.  Like the description says, stronger in the backend than the Strong/R...maybe a little cleaner through the front too?  Not much I bet.  Also very sharp looking!

Black Ice - I anticipate that the difference between the Ice and the Black Ice, though the core and cover are the same, could be the hardness between the two balls?  Perhaps the Ice has a harder cover, thus making it naturally go longer than the Black Ice, which by the numbers is set up to be earlier and more hook overall.  This is just speculation of course

Cross Fire - Looks like earlier and more aggressive than the Fire, at least this one has a different core, shorter and fatter should equal earlier and rollier than the original Fire.

Won't comment on the classics, never threw or really got familiar with the Puma or Nitro R2, and the Tornados/Warnings/Maxims are just color changes.

-Disclaimer-

I have not thrown these balls nor am I associated with Ebonite, just trying to get some discussion going and get more info about these new releases!

Gotta drill myself a Puma again...how can you not love that ball?

The cross fire interests me as well...I've had great luck with the lightbulb shaped cores.

Both were excellent balls.

I kind of like the look and idea of the Black Ice, but I'd really like to know the actual difference between it and the original Ice. The website does not seem to indicate that.

Ice=pearlized Trimax Reactive resin, Black Ice=Solid Trimax reactive resin.  As I have said many times Ebonites descriptions can be misleading, sometimes they describe two balls with same cover and then under the color section mention pearlization, sometimes they aren't even that kind.  This is the definitive difference in the two balls.

I heard someone say the new batch of V2 Strong R's has a different swirling pattern with less clashing colors.  The first one was God-Awfully ugly.  Maybe a new yellow/red/green color blend for more shelf appeal?
