Both. Almost all companies are into the ball of the month club which is good/bad. Gives a bowler more choices in colors (most balls are thrown together with different core/covers) and also has us bowlers who always buy bowling balls (I am towards the top of that list) buying more and more equipment. If every ball that came out had a new core and different covers then it would be great marketing to keep on top of the game. But when a company (Storm as an example) puts out a ball with the same core with a reactive solid/pearl, particle solid/pearl, and possibly a urethane coverstock thats 5 balls. Release them throughout the course of the year, and do that with 2 or 3 lines (high, mid and low price ranges) and thats 15 balls in a year, more than one a month. Then they discontinue most of that line by next year and do it all over again. That is overkill. Ebonite has done this with the Apex line, 6 balls all particle with the last 4 having the same core. In reality your only buying the color, cause they are all pretty much the same ball. the V2 line had the same core in 3 balls (Pearl/solid/particle) and all 3 gave a different look, but throw in the Strong (same core I believe) and the Dry (modified core) and now V2 is starting to look a bit overkillish. Get a new core design out and put a new cover on it, then dont make another ball either in that line or in general for a few months. Just my 2 cents.

The only ball from ebonite that interests me is the tpc player.
