New mandated pricing?
« on: December 20, 2007, 01:19:15 AM »
My Dad owns a shop and was telling me last night that Ebonite is mandating prices that distributors must sell for.  He said the cost of NVS's are going up on him by $8.00.  Basically he said that although he sells a lot of balls he will lose his buying power and will have to play the same as smaller shops.  Anyone else being effected by this?

Where's JLS when you need him?  No one knows more about price fixing than he does.

How can they make him raise his price? If they sell it to him for the same amount of money as to the little guy then they should be pricing it where they want to. Thats weird, but hey ebonite controls half the bowling world anyway, why not everything else? lol

They are telling the distributor what they have to sell it for.  The price increase is passed on to his shop thus he will raise his price.

Maybe its Ebonites way of trying to close the gap between internet distributors and local shops

Thats what it sounds like because more and more people are going to online stores to get balls because they are usually WAY cheaper to buy. Should help out phoshops with loosing business due to it.
