Is this distinct from the Total NV?  The ones on the show Sunday looked like they had some gold in them while this one doesn't.

I like his line "VERY LIMITED AMOUNT OF THESE BALLS MADE!!!!".  What he really should say is "Very limited amount of these balls made...so far".

Shelley, that is the NV in the auction, not the Total NV which is being mass released and was on TV.  The NV isn't being released to the public, just some pro shops and tour members.  I believe they're only making 288 or so, and then depending on feedback they'll then persue it further or not.

My pro shop owner told me less than 10 minutes ago that they are selling for 400 dollars in the some areas already. I cannot get this ball from him and he has 2 of them, these is saying something for there rarity because i can get almost anything from him.

Are you sure?  Do you have one?  Didn't think so.  You can't really say, then, can you?

I suppose if the lanes were dry enough, the friction created by this ball would create some heat, thereby allowing you to cook your steak on the lane, provided you threw enough balls along the same target line to create continuous heat.

I don't think lane oil is a good marinade though....

I believe each shop was limited to 16 Total NV's and therefore only 1 NV in this special. I know Buddies is a pro shop but they should only have 1 NV then right. I guess Ebonite isn't sticking to there own policies unless I'm mistaken which has happened before.

I attended the clinic yesterday in Milwaukee with Ron Hickland himself along with Dave Bartlett of Ebonite as the speakers.  The NV ?  There was and only will be 288 produced, period.  Card carrying pros can buy 2 of them. Also the attendees, if they bought 16 Totals also recieved one NV.  We where also notified the 15 lb are all gone.  If this ball gets good receptance from the guys that do get their hands on it it MAY come back but will not be under the same NV name.  Also at GBV 15.1 this ball absorbs a ton of oil.  On the spec sheet and DVD it says it is actually meant for sport and tournament play with heavier oil conditions only.  It's a sharp looking ball being blue, black and silver but no where near as sharp as the Total NV.  Yes we where told this is a gold nugget with some shops selling theirs already for $300 and not getting and eyelash batted at them on price.  Bottom line price to the pros is $200 per ball.  Suggested minimum resale is quite a bit higher.  Limited number and speed they are gettting snapped up is driving the price on a ball that is meant to burn through any flood condition you could possibly see.

My ball driller let me watch a video from Ebonite with Ron Hickland explaining the advances in technology ebonite poured into this ball.

They showed the nv on one screen and the total on the one next to it side by side and the nv started up a little earlier and finished high flush in the pocket where the total played on the exact same line went a little longer and finished medium light in the pocket about one board less. There really wasn't that much of a difference between the two from what I could see on the video.

This ball will absorb some oil, Ron put some lane oil on his finger then wiped it on the ball and it was gone in less than a second and a half. From watching the tour this past weekend when both Jason Couch and Patrick Allen were throwing the Total NV I would guess it will break down even the heaviest of oil patterns in little time.
