What surface for TNV on THS
« on: December 13, 2007, 04:21:54 AM »
I recently picked up a used TNV, pin above ring and cg stacked below ring. It appears pretty dull amybe 2000 grit or so, no polish.  I am thinking for me that might be too dull for THS.  Was wondering what surfce prep you guys have found to work on the TNV for a THS>  The shot is pretty good head oil.  I am a slow speed (14-15 mph) stroker with decent revs somewhat lower tracker.  I am thinking maybe 1000 grit abralon then a lite coat of polish.  Any advice is greatly appreciated. Ps:  I have a spinner and abralon pads in all grits.  doug

It's going to depend on the surface you're on, where on the lanes you want to play, how much oil is out there, etc.  I've used my Total NV with success at everything from 1000 abralon to 4000 + polish.  It all depended on what kind of lane conditions I was facing.  And no two house shots are alike, so I can't tell you anything definitive.  But, for what it's worth, rRight now I've got about a 2000+polish finish on mine, and that's my favorite look from it so far for a regular ol' house shot.
