Complete NV= very nice ball
« on: February 04, 2008, 01:21:15 PM »
I drilled one of these up 4 x 4 last Monday but was unable to really use it until tonight in my weekly league I bowl with my wife..

I used it a little bit yesterday but the lanes where very slick plus I dont like to use new stuff in travel league, to much $$ at stake if I bowl bad. I did throw it several shots and was very happy with what I saw., but I was bowling good with my BW Bite and Cell so the CNV didn't get much use. We where also bowling at a house not know for very good carry, so no need to try something new there..

Now tonight was a different story. I shot 245 246 and 248 for a nice 739. I whiffed a 10 pin of it would have been 750 +.. Oh well..

This ball is exactly as advertised for me. Its stronger than the NVS and TNV by 5 or more boards and man does this thing roll and roll and roll.. Its not instant left turn, just a very controllable reaction down the lane. I love the way it just keeps rolling thru the pin deck.. The carry was fantastic all night, only left one 10 pin. It also does not seem to absorb oil like the other NV's either.. The cover after 3 games is immaculate. I of course wiped it off before every shot with an oil free towel..

I look forward to using ball this some more and highly recommend it to anyone that liked the TNV.. You will not be sorry if you drill up one of these.. I think the Ebonite doubters/bashers are gonna be eating some crowe with this one!! LOL!!

I punched one tonight for Mr. 898, Eddie Williams, an Ebonite staffer.  He normally drills his own stuff, but was busy and asked me to.  He put the layout on it, I put holes in it.  The layout was pin under ring(I'm guessing his pap is about 5"), mb in the 60* range.  I watched him throw it a few times and it gave a late midlane read with strong continuation thru the pin deck.  I was surprised how low the pins stayed.  Carry looked good as well.

Demo day is around the corner.

The coverstock on this ball is weaker than the One and Gamebreaker in regards to oil absorbtion. Its 10.1 where the other 2 are 10.7. Ebonite is trying to get that big backend ball motion without the covers absorbing so much oil. in my mind, this is a big step foward...

From my understanding, the Violent covers on the Widows are very similar to the GB's from Ebonite. I wouldent be surprised to see some new coverstocks on a new line of bowling balls early next year, that wont absorb as much oil. Only time will tell...
