For what it's worth, I only have 3 games on my Black Ice, but here's my description/comparison...
Black Ice - Drilled pin under bridge, CG swung way out right, hole on midline, 5 1/2 inches from grip center, box condition. This ball is all about length and SMOOTH on the backend, no overreaction. Even when this ball hits the dry it's more of a roll than a flip. Needs dry in the backend to move, else it skates 55' (which was very evident last night as I tried using it too early)
Compared to Ice - Overall a board or two less than my Ice (which is deceiving because the fewer board hook is all in the backend), similar length. Ice is drilled pin over bridge, CG swung under ring, hole about 4 1/2 inches from grip center. Ice is much more in the backend because of the pearlization.
Compared to High-Rev - Overall about 5-7 boards less than my High-Rev and about 3-4 feet longer. High-Rev is drilled pin over ring, CG swung out (I went pin one inch from midline, CG one and one half inches from midline) taken to 2000 grit Abralon and then polished. Ball gets decent length and a STRONG roll in the backend, no flip, nothing sharp about this ball at all.
Last night league was a very funky THS, left lane was hooking anywhere from 5-10 boards more than right lane (and it was all in the backend too). Started out with my Black Ice standing 15 out to 10 on both lanes. GREAT reaction on the left lane (the drier lane) and HORRIBLE reaction on the right lane (the oilier lane). Jumped two left (on both lanes) as the night went on and used my High-Rev on the right and Black Ice on the left. Great reaction all night, shot 707 when the next highest series on the pair was 600 (and nobody on the pair averaged under 195 before tonight). However, like I said, it's still early, only have 3 games on the ball, so we'll see what happens in the long run.
