Original Mission question
« on: May 31, 2011, 03:13:55 AM »
Can anyone tell me how the original Mission compares to a Track 916AT? I have the 916 and have an opportunity to get a Mission and would like to know if I'd just be overlapping the 916 or will I be getting something that will give me a different look. Thanks for any info!

916AT should start rolling earlier with more overall hook (depends a little bit on drilling layout and cover prep).  In theory, the Mission should be more usable on medium-heavy's, whereas the 916AT is more of a heavy-only.  Whether or not they overlap depends on what else you have in the bag.  If you carry 9 balls and nothing else similar, then yes it probably has a place.  If you have just a 916AT and a spare ball and you're looking for another ball help round you out, then I would look for something else.

If I remember correctly from what Mike Judy said, based on the numbering system the 916 is a Misison 2.0 or the Mission 2.0 is the 916.  Depending on how you're looking at it.

Comparing the Mission to the 916, the Mission will be sooner than the 916

916 should be stronger overall.
earlier read on the lanes and more roll.

For me, the All-Terrain is a lot stronger. The Mission has a nice smooth reaction whereas the AT has a very early strong arc that seems to accelerate all the way through the deck. The Mission still gets great continuation, just not as strong of a reaction on the lane.

for me, the 916 goes 59 feet and makes a left turn, whereas the mission starts hooking very early and makes a nice even arc

The only things that are truly permanent are death and Sharpies.
