Does Ebonite still have a PEARL Tornado?
« on: December 27, 2004, 08:28:17 PM »
I know they've got a few different Tornado's in there line, but are any of them a PEARL like the Red/Silver Tornado was?

If not, what ball replaced that ball?

The Violet/Red Tornado is pearl. I have found that the Violet/Red is a little cleaner through the front than the Red/Silver

I think that generalization is BS with today's technology.  It applied more to the 80s and early 90s where cores aren't as dynamic as they are now but hey I don't wanna highjack this thread.

what I want to know is if ebonite ever made a tornado for heavy oil, cause I have one that'll out hook my ultimate inferno on heavy conditions....

No matter the core, that is THE Tornado for heavy oil. It is, as far as I know, the strongest, earliest rolling, heaviest oil handling ball made under the Tornado name.

AND it is NOT a pancake core!
What pancake core that you know about has ever had an RG differential of .040?
(It range from .034 for 16 lb balls to .045 for 14 lbballs.)
Look at the whole core; it has a huge bottom flip block that takes it right out the pancake core class.

Does anybody know for sure if the Rasberry/Green or Red/Violet are pearls?

In the following link, it sure looks like these 2 Tornado's have some PEARLIZATION in them if you look really, really close (they are pictured right below the V2 Sanded):

http://www.blockbusterbowling.com/catalog/CatalogMgr.pl?cartID=b-4130&SearchField=category&SearchFor=EBballs&offset=11&displayNumber=10&template=/Htx/deptballs.htx&hdr=Ebonite%20Balls

I e-mailed EBONITE and they didn't give me a straight answer either?

Does anyody know???

both of the red/teal and raspberry ones are according to ebonite"Super Track Plus reactive resin polished with Powerhouse Factory Finished Polish "

but its funny the tornado warning pearl says "Detonator Plus reactive resin polished with Powerhouse Factory Finish Polish "..without mentioning pearlized at all
