The One a dud?
« on: March 26, 2006, 08:05:01 AM »
Picked up my One yesterday and finally got a chance to use it this morning for some practice and a local 3-person tournament. I've got a 193 average and 3 out of my 6 total games were 225+ and I bowled a 647 series (+68) for the tournament. Cripes, the way you guys have been talking I expected at least an 800 out-of-the-box with a couple of 300's like everyone else who gets a new ball on Ballreviews.....
Seriously, I really like the motion of this ball, it's got a 4"-5" pin, drilled with the pin above and right of the ring finger, cg in palm. Goes long and makes a nice angular turn and for a change I think I found a ball that rewards you for what you do with it. You make a nice throw with a good release and you're rewarded with a strike... nothing complicated about that. It's waaaay too early to post a full review but I'm excited about the possibilities.

PS-I was actually low man on my team with my +68. One guy hit about 100+ and the other guy was close to 130+... I feel like dead weight....

When you bought the ONE you should have got a ticket that you fill out and send to EBONITE. It gets you a FIBER TOWEL/CLEANER/POLISH that is a promotional process for Ebonite. I find it important to CLEAN and even POLISH the ONE after every 10 games (maybe sooner) ..it helps to keep the ball on course!

i agree with that, keep this ball clean and it will do wonders!after about 20 games, mine started getting sluggish, but got the ebonite enigizer cleaner and boom, right back to the way it was.i clean mine after 3-4 games.it really brings the lane gripping power back to the way it was out the box.i love this ball, shot a 247 with it a couple days ago!my average just continues to rise!CLEAN ONE = MORE HOOK=MORE STRIKES!!

Yeah, I didn't get a ticket or anything like that with it.... just the drilling sheet and the warranty card in the box. I cleaned it as soon as I got home with some Storm Xtra clean that I have... hopefully that will work good enough for now, and when that runs out, I'll consult with my ball driller to see what he has/recommends. Thanks for the advice guys!

I use Legends cleaner right after bowling Scott.  Do it right away after bowling don't wait.
