**Attention** Ebonite fans
« on: April 13, 2008, 09:38:59 AM »
Once again I'm building a new arsenal because I'm moving back up to 15lbs. I also don't really like my Brunswick stuff and want to go back with to Ebonite or Storm. To be honest, I'm leaning towards Storm stuff because of all the talk about Ebonite and ball death. Should I let all the bad press deter me from buying some new Ebonite stuff? How do Ebonite coverstocks compare with Storm coverstocks?

i favor the storm covers over ebonite, especially on the tougher shots. for me, they last longer and have cleaner reactions. however, my infinite one has been going strong since day 1.

Total NV----200 games and NO ball death.Cleaned with alcohol after every three game set.Hot water and Dawn bath every 30 or so games.NO loss of motion or hitting power at all.Averaged 209-208 in two leagues last year with this being the benchmark ball.Somewhere around nine or ten 700's last year with it.
NVS----almost 250 games on it: as stated above.Best year in a long time.Fifteen 700's with a 300 two weeks ago in my Monday league.Again, this was the ball that got used a great majority of the time.
If you keep ANY equipment clean it should last you for quite awhile.I've used stuff from every major company and rolled well with all of them.
I'm not calling ANYONE a liar if they say that the ball from this or that company died on them.No company makes a perfect production run,and some product gets off the lines and past QA that isn't perfect.
All I'm saying is that for me Ebonite works well and hasn't died.

I gotta say I've never matched up well with Storm stuff. I've always matched up well with Ebonite stuff though. Keep your balls clean and you'll be good.
