I found out that a friend of mine has several old Ebonite test (what he called spec) balls.  He said they are plain balls (no logos or markings) with the exception of the old ebonite logo (the lower case "e").  I'm not sure if there is a serial number or any other sort of information on them.  Supposedly he acquired these sometime around the mid 90's.  Is there any way (outside of an x-ray machine) to tell which cores are in these things?  Has anyone ever seen/thrown one of these things?  I'm stopping by his place this weekend and will post a couple photos.  Just curious...
