Playmaker, Total NV or Angular One?

I'm looking to find a ball to compliment with my Complete NV for tournament conditions and I'm down to these two choices. Would like to have a ball that's cleaner through the heads with length and not too strong on the dry for when the CNV starts to hook too much. I'm leaning toward the Playmaker because of what I've read the Total NV is very aggressive on the midlanes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well it is really all contingent on how you roll the ball. I do believe the Playmaker will give you what you are looking for being as though the Total NV and the Angular One can both be a lil snappy off the friction. Especially since you are using them after the Complete, which depending on your finish on it will definitely tackle away at the heads.

I agree both the TNV and angular one are too similair to your CNV.  Playmaker or Gamebreaker are good compliments.

I agree w/ lefty and mcfarlane. the playmaker is not snappy at all off the dry. this ball responds quite well to friction.

I'd actually say the Angular One, personally.  It was my favorite of the One series and I feel that it should really offer what your looking for.  To me, the Playmaker should offer the response off the dry that you want, but I figure that the length that it provides may not be enough (due to the Low RG core).  The Total Nv, on the other hand will provide the length, but the angularity of the ball will be around what you get with the Complete.  The Angular offers the best of both worlds, it should offer a good ammount of length due to the coverstock providing a bit less friction, but it shouldn't overreact on the dry as the core tends to rev a bit quicker than the spike in the NVs.

This being said, I actually think that the Raid is probably the best option in the recent offerings from Ebonite as it should be even more controllable than the Angular off the spot.

Does the Raid have a strong backend reaction than the playmaker ?

The low RG on the Playmaker has been my only concern with that ball. But I guess if I put a weak drilling on it it should do. Plus from past experience with Ebonite balls I do much better with pearls on medium oil than solids. Basically, I'm looking for something like my Power Machine with the length but less flip.

Playmaker is a great ball to have to go with after the Complete cant hold a line any more. The lower rg will help it get in a roll earlier and it doesn't have a flip like a Total NV or an Angular One. From what I have seen and thrown, the Playmaker is a better compliment to the Complete when it is checking up too early. Total after the Complete had a little too much flip causing me to leave alot of corner pins, that the Playmaker's roll carried.

I'd just say just put your favorite drill on the ball and change the surface as needed, maybe take the surface to 1000 abralon w/ polish.

I'd say that the Raid is the best option.  

If you go with the Playmaker, the thing to keep in mind is that low rgs do not necessarily create a ton of hook.  Therefore, your not really looking to limit the flare of a ball (as you may with a high differential), you are looking to make the ball flare further downlane.  In a symmetrical ball, I'd reccomend that you still keep the pin in the 4 1/2" range and elevate it quite a bit above your midline.  This will be a strong drill, but it will not check up too early and roll out.  I'd also say that it would probably still be less on the backend than the Power Machine, as the Playmaker is one of the smoothest rolling pearls that I have seen.

The reason that I'd still go with the Raid is that you can use more of a standard drill that you like, and the ball will provide the length and smooth controllable backend.
