polishing the mission

Anyone did this to their ball?  Any over/under? Feedbacks appreciated

I have one polished and on box finish.
My polished Mission is a bit more angular.
When the box finish is too early or is too much,
the polished one fits right in.

Yeah I had the same problem. Drilled my first one 5 1/2 X 5 dull or shined I could not get a consistant read on the ball. So I drilled my next one stronger 4 X 5 pin down. Dull the ball still went straight in the oil and was extream off the break. Shined the ball did nothing in the oil or off the break point. I could not match up well with these balls for what ever reason. Im just lucky they were both free cause I was on staff with ebonite.

Words of advise. Limiting your self to just one company is never smart. Get proven balls out on the market. Global, Storm inc, Ebonite international, er what ever it may be.

Sorry to hear that Zach. You seem to be one of the few unfortunate
ones not to match up with this ball.
I know you know your stuff, but I would suggest different surface changes
and let us know how it went.
For example, 500, 1000 then polish.
500,2000, then light 4000.
If you tried these already, disregard this.
Hopefully you will have better success with your next ball.

I had tried a lot of diffrent surfaces it just did not match up. Not a big deal. This happens from time to time. If every ball worked for everyone we wouldn't need so many of them lol.

If you are to polish a Mission I would recommend taking the surface down to 1000-abralon, then 2000-abralon, and then finally polish.  If you need to polish the Mission because you feel it is using up it's energy too soon on the lane, then by all means do that to get the desired reaction you need.  Not knowing what you bowl on or your style of play, I can't give the proper assessment.  For myself however I polished one of my Missions' and it is an awesome piece when the front of the lanes start to hook, but still need a strong mid lane read, where weaker equipment is still too strong down lane because it conserves too much energy.  Give it a try. If you don't like it you can always put surface back on.

I have my Mission at 2000 polished and it's more angular on backend but not quite skid/flip. It does save more energy to get a good enough carry with the pins and I can play it deeper in the middle than OOB. The polish can sometimes make it over/under but it depends on lane oil and transition. I did what OnTheFly said on the surface adjustment, started with 1000, 2000, then polish.

I had it OOB and it was kind of jerky off of the oil and really jumped hard on a wet/dry pattern.  I took it down to 1k and used storm finish 2 on it and it smoothen out quite a bit.  With slight speed adjusts or hand positions I can use the ball inside or outside.  

I can't say it's the greatest ball in the world but it does respond well to changes and that is better than some of the balls in my bag.

Thanks guys... it seems that there is some over/under when polished.

i will probably do 800/1000/2000 then polish.  just looking for alternative ways to keep using the ball.  Most patterns i see, I usually have to start at 30-30+ at the 1st game.

i am one of those not quite impressed people. I just polished my mission yesterday. It was polished over the box finish and it really seemed to come to life. I am rev challenged and the polish allowed the ball to turn over a few more times and it really was sooooo much better of the spot that i almost didnt believe it. Usually after i polish a strong ball,its out the bag as the next step,but the mission actually just moved up in the line up.
