Since I've heard vastly different opinions on the review section, I figured I'd take it out here. I know the ball didn't live up to its specs and all, but what did you like or didn't like about this ball. I'm pretty much looking for a medium to medium-heavy oil ball that can be smooth and predictable off the dry. How about it?

It's not a ball that really did what Ebonite designed it for unfortunately.  More than a few people were disappointed with it once they realized that it wasn't going to fit where they thought it would in their arsenals.

For example...  BTM gave the PI a 44 hook rating.  They gave the Prime Time Sanded a hook rating of 48.

It's longer than both Killer Instincts, but has a little more backend.

the primal instinct is great for over under shots, mine is a really smooth rolling ball and it does the same thing every time  not one of thses over under balls when the lanes get  ugly...

if ur lookin for a ball to hook the whole lane  rthis isnt the ball u want, buit if u want a ball to play most up the boards with a really consistant rolling reaction, this ball u will like......

Isn't that ball discontinued?  Unless you are getting a really good deal on it, I would think you might want to try something that doesn't have so many mixed reviews.  I mean its pretty much the same with any ball - you have a 50/50 shot that it will work for you, but you would be going into already knowing that so many people think the ball doesn't live up to its hype.

I would think maybe something from the Xcel line, or maybe something from Hammer.  Can't really give you much advice because I use my Nemesis for pretty much every condition (but I have it drilled 2E for a smooth, early arc), and my style seems to match up better with the mid-priced symmetric balls for some reason.

I don't blame you - I loved my Savage Flip, and most of the balls I threw during an Ebonite Demo Day were great.  Have you looked at the Ball Selector on Ebonite's site to see what they recommend? http://www.ebonite.com/techcenter/04ballselect/index.php

What weight do you throw?  I have an Apex Obsession with about 15-20 games on it (does have some small nicks due to a malfunctioning ball return the first night I used it in leagues) - wife says I have too many balls, and I haven't thrown it since I got the Nemesis.  Might be willing to entertain an offer.

I think so - I haven't used it since January (my league started playing around with the oil and for a while they were laying down pretty heavy - bought the Obsession and then they started laying down a much lighter pattern).  It's drilled per drilling #1 on the instruction sheet (http://www.dipspit.com/qstick777/apex-obsession-sheet3.PDF) which says:

At the time I was carrying a 155 avg and shot a 613 series with the ball, so I was really happy with it, just don't see enough oil now to ever have a reason to put it back in the bag.
