Prime Time
« on: May 02, 2005, 09:33:46 AM »
Looking for some information/opinions regarding the PrimeTime.  Just picked one up in a trade and seeing as how this ball came out during the time where I had lost interested in Ebonite (this interest has since come back!) and I know little about the ball.  I know the specs...

Reactions: Medium-high RG, medium flare core creates versatility
Delayed energy release with medium-strong breakpoint angle
Great for higher rev players and slower ball speeds

Target Line: Great for inside and outside angles, and the track area
Lane Conditions: Medium Oil
Coverstock: Big Bang low load particle resin polished with Powerhouse Factory Finish Polish
Core: Medium RG, Medium Flare Tower Core
Weights
RG Differential 16 15 14 13
2.56 2.55 2.58 2.51
.043 .045 .047 .030
12 11 10
2.58 2.62 2.72
.032 .032 .031

Length Rating: 15.85 (scale of 1-30, early to late)
Overall Hook Rating: 22.95 (scale of 1-30, least to most)
Breakpoint Angle: 8.1 (scale of 1-10, smooth to sharp)
Color: Green/Gold Pearl

But that's really about it.  Just looking at the specs, it looks like a medium-length, slightly strong, sharp breakpoint, light-load particle ball.  Perhaps similar to a Sheer Havoc or Fuze Eliminator...?  This seems like a "reactive particle" ball to me, but not entirely sure.

The current layout on the ball is basically pin 1 1/2" above bridge, CG in palm, about a 3 1/2-4" pin.

What type of reaction would I find out of this ball, and then this ball with this layout?

Thanks to all in advance!!

i havent thrown this ball, but have seen a few people throw it. it looked like it made a nice smooth turn towards the pocket. cant remember if it started revving up early or not.

sorry if this is no help

It revs up early.  Nice and smooth.  It doesn't like oil down the lane though, which is weird for a particle pearl.  It could be a nice benchmark piece for the heavy handed guys.

Good, so it revs somewhat early, but is rather smooth on the backend, and doesn't like oil...seems really similar to a Threat that I had drilled pin above bridge, CG swung out on the midline...
