I drilled a few TPC balls that featured the propeller cores and found them to be somewhat over-under. I notice that they aren't using that design any longer. Anyone else feel that they were a problem as far as over-under?

Not sure what the problem was but they definitely didn't stay on the market long. They were great balls I had a shooter and liked it a lot.

Now that I am back and my Saws are sharp again, I am ready to cut some wood.

I should have mentioned that...I drilled one too and liked it. I just found that some other people experienced over-under reaction with it. I think it was one of those balls that you had to be extra careful where you drilled it.

I agree. I have found every one of my balls in the TPC line to be over under. I have a Warrior, Player, Shooter, and also the Shooter XL. When the conditions suit, these balls are outstanding. I carry all of them with me to try to compensate for the changing conditions during a match by changing balls rather than trying to battle the over-under with any one particular ball.

I feel that the Shooter XL, Warrior, and Player were some of the best balls Ebonite ever made if you followed the drilling instructions and did what you were supposed to do with them. I've seen tough shots when these balls gave me a look that none of my other equipment at the time did. I absolutely loved the Shooter XL.

Did any of you try to put the psa on or very near your pap? I did that with the Shooter original and found that eliminated the over under tendancies. The pin was just left of my grip line, under the fingers. I was able to play straight up with that ball as well as anything I ever owned. I am now considering an XL for the same purpose.

I had a Shooter Xl. I found this ball to be extremely release sensitive. When I threw a nice shot, I knew I had a strike almost 100% of the time. If I threw even slightly too hard or soft or a different amount of revs or tilt, I got a vastly different amount of hook. This is probably a good feature for the player who can really repeat their shots. For myself and the other lane sprayers, It doesn't cover your mistakes. At $250+ who is going to buy a ball like that?

$250.00 plus for a shooter XL you should have gotten three for that price you must be joking the whole tpc line was midpriced not even top end.

The TPC line was Ebonite's premium line when it was released. They didn't sell at that price. I got mine from Buddies for $50. I rolled 20 games with it then gave it away.

Love my Shooter XL, but I will agree 100% that it is very drill sensitive. A small change in my span caused a pretty adverse reaction. I was forced to fill and redrill the whole thing.
Maybe I have the right layout, but I've never had any over-under with the ball. If anything, just the opposite - it has always been more of a niche control piece of equipment.

Louie your quite wrong the tpc line was not top line but right along where the V2 line was maybe a slight bit higher. The apexs were still here when the tpc's were out and they were the upper end. The tpc's retailed for 150-160 punched in my local proshop when they first came out.

Not one shop in my area carried a tpc ball. I was told that they were very expensive. I recall seeing them online for $130+ while the v2 was aroun $100. Perhaps my memory fails me.

I loved my Omega/R it was the first reactive ball I ever owned and a hand me down at that.
