Huge thumbs up to the guys at the booth, especially Kyle
I had been practicing on the pattern back home for 4 weeks or so + another practice session at another house that put the pattern down.
Felt fairly comfortable from the left side with my Gamechanger.
I went to the booth with my equipment and he gave me an evaluation of my arsenal, helped me with some surface adjustments, talked about the shot, etc..
I ended up getting a 300T for a better choice below my GC and a Outburst for a bit earlier and stronger piece above the GC.
Both new balls felt great and I threw all 3 upstairs for the Bill Hall practice session.
Kyle came and watched, suggested that the 300T would be a look up the 5-6-7 board for me
I was doing pretty well with the GC and the 300T during this session
Went back to the booth afterwards and they did some surface adjustments.
Went d-stairs for team event knowing that they would be 2-3 boards tighter than upstairs.
Started with my GC at 4000 dull and the shot was much tougher than upstairs.
After most of the first game with the GC, switched to the 300T and had a decent look.
To many missed spares (spare ball fit issue and operator error) later, the 300T was awesome
Went to minors with the same equipment, no surface changes
300T - 2000 dull with lane shine from team event
Gamechanger - 4000 dull
Outburst - 2000 with light polish
Started minors with Outburst, switched to GC and ended up in game 2 with the 300T
the first 2 balls provided a look, but swinging the ball at all on my side was very unforgiving
the 300T was the best up the boards look for me
I should have listened to Kyle from the 1st shot to the last
I could have used the 300T the entire 9 games
If you are not sure if you have the right equipment/surface/layout.........
Stop by the booth, let them look at your equipment, listen to them..........!!
They know where the shot plays and what surface you need........
+1 for staying at the Crowne Plaza, close to the event and reasonable prices (4 miles away)
- 1 for the traffic around the event center, almost missed my team event on Saturday night because it, freeway heading towards downtown was often stopped in front of the hotel,
+1 awesome food in the south in general
