Stay away from acetone, anyway. Not only that it is illegal on competitive balls, it is also very aggressive and will make the material brittle if you use it frequently, because it sucks the softener out of the resin (and any other plastic material). This does not happen over night, but I'd be cautious.
Alcohol should be fine (very good choice IMHO).
Personally, I also use Powerhouse (it is the only one available her at the moment), and I am quite satisfied. Works well on any ball I tried so far.
For deep cleansing I also use a special cleaner made for plastic window frames, which not only does a great cleaning job but also has some additives to keep plastic material fresh and flexible. Since it is a professional cleaner I do not use it frequently.
A mild glass cleaner (alcohol based) has also delieverd good results on surface cleaning for me, but it eats away polish very quickly!
By the way: my SR300 is after frequent use since Sep 06 still in great shape, it has caught only few nicks and is still utterly aggressive - so much that I decided to put a coat of polish onto it for a little more length! But I kept it clean and even did a preventious hot water bath to keep the oil out of the ball as far as I can.
