Quality of latest releases?
« on: January 24, 2007, 01:02:30 AM »
Hey all, a while back I posted a somewhat lengthy review of the Ebonite demo day here in Sacramento.  At the time, the latest release was the infinite one with the angular one coming out later that month.  I was impressed with the equipment that day, but the only thing that bothered me was peoples complaints with the "One" line dying out after a while producing a whole bunch of straight ones.

Well, the Angular One and Total NV have really caught my eye and I've been dying to try one of these as I havent bought any Ebonite yet.  Can anyone update me on the quality of the latest releases by Ebonote?  There's a whole bunch I wanna try including the Smash Time Pearl and SRX300.

It's illegal if used during a tournament. It is not illegal to use at home when you clean your balls. And plus, who can determine if you have used acetone or not? Most tournament holders never check the equipment for acetone use. It would be a waste.

And the Angular One is a beast after you get a track on it. I took mine down to 2000 grit and slapped some polish on it, and its been great ever since. I have about 15 games or so on it now, and I am loving it. Already a 290 - 289- 279 - 268 with it..

I guess I've never had an issue with substances that Energizer couldn't remove.  Perhaps you bowl in a center where you get more belt marks than I do locally.  Anytime I get a heavy concentration of belt or ball wheel mark, I simply spray the cleaner on and let it soak in for just a second.  My stuff always comes right off.

Are you cleaning these marks off immediately after you finish bowling?  That will help as well.

jeff,

I usually clean my stuff on my spinner when I get home. That Ttoal NV is a sponge for dirt and crap on the lane. It picks up everything..

I actually have more success cleaning my stuff by hand first with an oil-free towel and Energizer cleaner.  This lets you put a little more pressure on a localized spot versus using a spinner.  Good luck!
