I know you guys have it in you! LOL.
The main reason I started this because I was thinking about all of my favorite balls and most of them have been Ebonite. My sophomore year of collegiate bowling I threw Ebonite exclusively and couldn't name a bad ball from that era. I had a V2, V2 Particle, 3 Different Stinger 2 Piece Pearls, a Stinger Lowflare, Matrix Trimax III, Matrix Dynasty, Tiger, and Pantera. Later I tried the Savage and absolutely loved it.
What happened to the Ebonite heyday? It seems like every ball that comes out to replace an older great one isn't really met with much anticipation(unless it looks really nice like the Killer Instincts or the Fire and Ice). I've heard mixed bag reviews on the X-Cel series, and from what I've seen, two of the best balls out right now(Primetime, and Primetime Sanded) aren't being thrown anywhere. The V2 series is still golden, but alot of bowlers are reluctant to purchase them since there are so many alternatives out there that are more exciting to throw on a typical house shot(big backending assymetrical pearls, activator and "hybrid" coverstocks and whatever other fancy gimmicks another company may have). You've seemed to stumble across something great with the Big Time(thanks to the tear Tommy Jones went on), and from what I've seen from a few staffers, the Gametime doesn't look bad either.
So is now the experimental phase where you guys are just sitting back trying to brew another great series of balls while the current stuff is out on the market, or are we going to see more "retro" style equipment that so many people loved? I'd like to know because although I'm throwing mostly Track and AMF, I'd love to get back on the Ebonite ship, just not with some of the current equipment out there.
