Question about the Vital Energy
« on: November 12, 2011, 06:01:00 AM »
I just added my first new Ebonite ball in years to my arsenal...the Vital Energy which I will pick up on Wednesday.  So far, I am thinking it will be a little under my Storm Anarchy but a little above my Nomad Dagger.  My driller had recommended this as as she knows my game, has seen me bowl before and thinks it would fit well as part of my arsenal.

For those who have this ball, how has it worked for you?  What have you liked and what have you disliked about it?

Personally I see two Storm balls and two Roto-Grip balls and wonder why you would ever consider something else? Be that as it may, it looks to be a good fit. It is weaker than an Anarchy and Relatively strong than a Dagger. The cores have similar levels of strength other than the VE having an Asymm. core. But i think the cover should be stronger so that might work well for you ....

The problem with socialism is, you eventually run out of other people's money too...

What happened was that I was starting to have problems with the person that used to drill my stuff and that whole shop went downhill.  So after finding a good shop that I am dealing with now, I used it as a chance to evaluate everything.  After spending time on the lanes with my new driller and keeping all options open, my new person thought that a lot of the Ebonite/Track stuff would actually fit better for what I want to do (and the shop also sells Storm/Roto Grip.)

Strong ball for me, drilled it for long and strong.  80x5.5"x35
Cover was still reading the house shot too early.  Strong recovery and roll.
I'm around 17-18mph 300 rpm, >85* rotation, 5*tilt

hope to have helped

Thanks.  On 1 house shot, I did find that the backend was a little strong.  However, at my normal house and at the house I go to have my stuff drilled, I really loved how smooth it was in the front/mids and made that predictable jump on the backend.  From a Storm/RG guy, I am really liking this ball from EBI.
