It depends on what you are looking for. Both are pretty similar as far as core numbers and in what they are designed to do. I would say the innovative is more ball, more angular, and equipped to handle more oil. If you're looking for something angular for drier conditions the the violent eruption would be more to your liking. It just depends. But just from looking at the numbers, they're pretty close with the innovative being more by a smiggett. Just my .02.

I'd agree with Rightycomplex here.  The Innovate should give you a little more angle in the back and can cut through some heavier oil. 

Other options if you need something that's angular from the Ebonite line, are the Vital Energy or the Signals.  The Signals is one of the most angular pearl balls that Ebonite has released.  The Vital Energy is also very angular, and is the most angular ball in my arsenal.  However, the Signals even has that beat with slightly extra length and a sharper turn in the back.

If you venture outside EBI, the Roto Grip Critical Theory and Bandit are 2 pearl balls that also have a very defined turn in the back.  The Critical Theory is the most angular ball that they have ever produced actually.
