The One vs. the Big one with same cover stock prep?
« on: February 09, 2006, 10:20:32 PM »
I just recently got the One and I am loving this ball. Its currently is at 1000 grit and it matches up to me VERY well. I am wondering if the Big one with the same cover prep will be about the same ball as the one or, will be stronger than the one? Also, If I remember correctly, the One OOB is 4000 grit. What is the Big One OOB?

The big one box finish is going to be stronger than the one at any finish..

the One is 4000 + factory polish

the Big One is 4000 and no polish...

the Big One (according to Ron Hickland) is a stronger cover than the One ...they sould like they'd compliment each other nicely

The cover on the big one is much stronger according to Ron. Most people say the Big One is 5-7 boards stronger than the one..

If I recall correctly Ron Hickland said somewhere the Big One was 1 foot earlier and 7 boards more backend than the One. I don't remember where, but I remember those numbers.

I have had the One for about 2 1/2 months now and i just love this ball.I have been thinking about getting The Big One but before i do i was wondering how the ball reacts with some polish.I was wondering if anybody has polished the ball up.I would like to know how this ball would react with the same finish   as the original One.

I bought the Big One a week ago and have compared it to my 1000 grit One. The Big one is still ALOT stronger and handles ALOT more oil than the 1000 One grit one even though the Big One is at its 4000 grit factory surface. The Big One handles oil about as good as any Reactive ball I have thrown and it is probally the most versatile ball and the strongest ball I have ever thrown over a variety of conditions! If you like the One, it is a MUST to have in your bag! Its a great compliment to the One! That is, if your one is at 1000 grit!!! Its (the Big One) kind of hard for me to keep it right of head pin unless I have alot of carrydown! I bought it for this condition though! When it carrys down and the One is having trouble, the Big One comes out of the bag!
