So do you still use your V2 Sanded?
« on: July 01, 2005, 02:34:32 AM »
I've heard nothing but good things about this ball, and I'm now on the verge of picking one up.  Has there been anything lately that really trumps the V2 for you, or do you still use it on a regular basis?  I punched up my V2 Power the other night, and I love it already.  From what I've heard, the Sanded might be a perfect complement in more medium conditions.  It also just so happens my shop had a 5-10 game used V2 on the rack which  he's now holding for me.  The ball looks NEW and I can get it for a steal.  So do you still use yours?

First ball out of my bag when their is head oil or synthetics on med to med-heavy volumes. My second one I like for longer oil patterns (40+) with clean backends. (US Open,Pattern B, etc.) I recently got an Original Inferno that i love that falls between the two. It is a bit more angular yet with a nice mid-lane read so when ball one leaves flat sevens  due to not enough entry angle i can switch  and carry them out with the inferno. It took me a few weeks to adjust to the V2 when i first got it due to the heavy roll it has but after you get use to it, its very nice all-around ball and i have never seen any ball that handles tough or spotty conditions as well.

That's probably the thing I most noticed about the V2 power, it definitely has a heavy roll, so the "Power" moniker seems to fit it nicely.  From what I've seen of the sanded, it's similar.

I just bought a used one and it's on the way, but I know a few that still throw it and it's great. There is a reason Ebonite still makes and sells it.

I loved my older 16lb V2's even the used ones that I bought off of friends.

When I moved to 15's it was the first ball that I bought.

If / when Ebonite does decide to mess with the coverstock I will be buying atleast a case (if not more) of them to stash away.

the power has a heavier roll because it has a lower rg rating.

i have 1 v2 sanded in my bag and 2 NIB in my garage for the future when/if ever it dies out.

Yes I still use my two v2's when I can..I have the power and the strong/r but have not punched up either because I have not found a condition that my V2 sanded drilled 3 1/2 X 3 can't handle....I also have a particle drilled 4X2 that I use most of the time because it is not as strong..btw my two sanded v2's are polished and the particle is dull...but if you are thinking about purchasing one I feel it is a great investment and you will not be disappointed

OMG, heck yeah. That ball is plain out awesome. Mine I use for medium and medium/lite it's polished up BTW. Super smooth in the midlane and has a nice controllable arc which I love on tougher more spotty conditions. Has saved many a horrible series. I'll never get rid of mine no matter how much people offer. It's one of those balls that can take on everything but the extremes with some surface prep. If you have a chance to get ahold of one, I strongly suggest you do so, you wont regret it. BTW, mine has over 750+ games on it and I still use and love it, although it doesn't hand medium/heavy as well as it used to but it fits reallly nice in the lower categories. I really should buy another one and drill it stronger.
