Title: Recomondations for a new ball
Post by: slimeypebble on December 09, 2003, 09:23:01 AM
Right now I am going to a lower weight with my equipment and my goal is to have a 3 ball arsenal.  Right now I have a ruby gemstone(spare and dry), a reaper(short conditions and med oil), and a player for everything else.  Right now I am pleased but my reaper isn't going to last much longer.  So i was wondering what would be a good replacement.  I'm looking for that ball that will just go long and just make a real hard turn to the right.  I really like ebonite equipment and just wanted to here what others thought.  I throw usually a 4th or 5th arrow shot with all my equipment, 15 to 18 mph, high revs, and come out the ball bout 45 degrees(not ur classic lefty).

Slimey...

I've thrown a reaper, it was lower weight so I gave it to a teammate of mine but I LOVED the ball.  I found a very good replacement in Roto-Grip's Silver Streak Pearl.  It sounds just like what you're looking for (go long and make a real hard turn to the right...darned lefties...:-P)  Other suggestions would include a Sling Blade or Blade Pearl for Hammer, or if you wanna go strictly Ebonite, perhaps a Savage Flip.  Hope this helps.

Slimey,
I would go with a Predator Sparkle! It will go down the lane and then turn like a train to tthe right!  I know i have one and just shot 284 with it but got stupid in  the 11th frame. good luck hope i helped!

If you want a ball out of the Ebonite line that is below the TPC Player then you should probably look at the Stinger Low Flare or maybe even a Tornado.  Both of these ball work very well on lower volumes of oil and each will hook HARD in the backends.  Each of these choice actually hook more than what people think so you should be pleasantly surprised!
