I still find it hard to believe that centers don't stand behind damaged equipment, especially for steady customers. While it's true, today's equipment is much more fragile than the days of old, a new ball, deep damage in the track, should be rectified even if for no other reason than to public relations.
The new new ball expense of replacing the damaged ball can easily be recovered with the repair and resale of the damaged ball. The new ball will cost $135 or less in most cases. MANY bowlers would be very happy with a current release "new" ball that has been plugged and repaired for $150 instead of #250.
