Smash Time Solid or Pearl?
« on: May 13, 2007, 03:15:56 PM »
I've never thrown the pearl, and I've had 2 solids (working on getting a third). I absolutely love the solid, it's so original and versatile! I'm afraid the pearl will be a good ball, but easily replaced by another pearl ball.

Basically, although the Smash Time Solid is awesome and unique, I'm afraid that the Smash Time Pearl will be "just another pearlized ball."

If you like the way the solid works pick up the pearl. It will give you a different look on the lane. I would think it would end up being pretty close to the Radical Inferno.

Rocker,
I just drilled one of these up that I got from Nationals.  This ball is crazy strong for a pearl.  I have it drilled pin under the bridge in line with the CG.  This ball out hooks my Shift.  It reads very early for a pearl ball.  Of course on heavier oil it is going to show the pearl coverstock, but on a medium THS it is ridiculous. Between this ball and the SR300 I drilled also, I am strongly looking to make a switch from Storm to Ebonite.

Derek,
Both are great balls.  The SR is a lot smoother in the transition.  The STP has more backend, but the SR is stronger over all.  I will usually pull out the SR first, and once the lanes break down and the SR is reading too early I can switch to the STP and it clears the heads but still gets through the carry down.  Both of the balls are OOB finish also.  A great pair for your arsenal.
