Solid Mission - is this for real?
« on: December 27, 2010, 02:36:41 AM »
Was wondering if this is someone's wish or if this is for real.

Have not heard anything about this. The Pearl additives are so strong now, not much need for a solid. Vital Energy is next, lots of kick on the backend.

Ed Gallagher, brand manager for Ebonite, told the audience at the seminar for the 2.0 that there is absolutely NO intention of releasing a solid version of the Mission...

From what Ed was talking about, they tested the solid version of this coverstock and the ball was reading the heads on fresh oil like the pearl version would read the midlane.

Do you really need that?

If you want the stereotypical "solid coverstock" reaction, simply adjust the surface as needed.

I heard about a mission domination ball to come out in January sometime.  No word on if it's a solid or pearl.  I was just guessing it's cover would be XL1300 or something.

Sounds good for people with lower revs and for OB conditions.

Just got the Email from Ebonite stating about the New Mission Domination New Coverstock and the Core is from the Mission 1.0. After watching the video, it looks like you can play an inside line with it...what do you guys think?

As an owner of a Mission 1 and a Mission 2.0 I can tell you now I want one as soon as I can get one.

So is it for heavier volumes??  Or just a stronger hooking ball for the same conditions?

The 2.0 is much less skittish in the oil than the original.  The 2.0 is about 2 to 3 boards stronger than the original.  I start the night witht he 2.0 and some where int he 2nd game I usually switch to the original.  They are really a great compliment and having the new one will now give me a piece for sport patterns with the heaviest amounts of oil..
