A Case of these was delivered to the Shop today, for an Ebonite Rep. It says the ball is Blue/Black/Green, with the GB10.7 Coverstock. Should be interesting. Also we got a Case of Whirlwind and Black Sparkle Tornados.

I am curious about this one too.
J Dubs, if your Ebonite Rep gets a hold of these, can you see if
you can get a picture? Would this mean this ball is not an
international exclusive? Thanks!
GB10.7 coverstock hmmm.
I wonder if they're introducing a new line to replace the V2's?
I also saw this on Ebonite's Honor Roll Link...

Congrats Ron! Also can Ron Sr./Jr. or anyone else out there from eBonite, confirm if any of these balls will be at BowlExpo in Vegas?
Thanks!

Hey ron why does it seem like most of the ebonite lines are going towards the G.B. coverstock instead of something else. I understand how popular it is i have a one and big one, but i have noticed a decline in their performance because of all the oil it soaks up, so will there be any new coverstocks or is this the way ebonite is going?

You shouldn't have noticed any decline in perfromance due to oil absorbtion thats what was fixed with the intro of the GB line of covers. In covers of old oil was soaked into a balls cover and remained there causing loss of reaction. SInce the introduction of GB 10.7 and 11.2 oil is soaked into the cover but rather than remaining in the cover itself it passes through to the filler material causing no loss in reaction. You may notice performance issues if the surfaces of your one or big one is not maintained properly. These balls are very surface prep sensitive. Remember the ONE comes 4000 polished and the Big One comes 4000 if you had success with them out of box and these surfaces have not been maintained you may see what you observe to be a loss of reaction, if you did change the surfaces from the start and liked that better than out of box condition then perhaps you should try going back to that surface prep. You should not however experience any problems due oil absorbtion.

Agreed. Most of the people I bowl with who complain that their equipment loses reaction, don't maintain their equipemnt. You would be amazed what the surface of a ball will pick up just after one 3 game set. Multiply this by 10 or 20 and its no wonder a ball doesn't react the same... Try some powerhouse cleaner and a clean white towel.. you will be amazed.

Wiped off after ever shot, cleaned after every set, still happened. I put them (one and Big One) on a spinner and took it to OOB and still had the samething! What Ebonite says and what happens is 2 different things. They still dye out like other Ebonites (except the V2's, I have always had luck with them). The balls still hook but, the backends are not nearly as crisp as before. The start getting weaker and weaker over time though.

i noticed a marked decline in my big one . i have cleaned it soaked it wipe it after every shot, but what i noticed is no matter how i hit the pocket i cant carry. 10 pin after 10 pin. unless u have enough oil .this ball demands oil it just will not work on lught short patterns for me.

No doubt the Big One likes oil and wont work well with a light volume of it ( I know this and I am not using it on dry lanes, a very heavy medium I would say). After 40-50 games it will tame way down on any kind of volume and just keep getting weaker, week by week.

Just a note here guys.Using the powerhouse towel with energizer cleaner after every set is a very big help. When restoring back to box finish try to start(big one) with 1000 abralon, then 2000, and 4000.Be careful your abralon pads aren't worn down because it wont be the same finish as it was OB condition.Just something i have noticed for me and my customers.

I got my One during the drilling seminar when it first came out in October '05. Its definately LOST reaction. Its now a dry lane ball. I can pick up 10 pins with it. Out of the box that ball was a monster. When I noticed a loss of backend and overall too much skid, I took the ball down to 2000 Abralon. I figured this could have been due to a lane condition difference. It did fine that way until further decline when I took it down to 1000 Abralon. Then I got a Big One (in fact I have two) for my oil ball/s and polished The One at 1000 so that it at least has a use as a dryer lane ball. But for a new generation ball its lasted pretty good. So no real complaints. Its still a heck of a ball, out of the box. Just don't want to hear it when reps say it doesn't go away. It does and did, despite meticulous maintenance.

not to get off the topic, the SR300 is pearl reactive GB10.7 4000grit OOB, its green blue and black swirl
looking at a picture of the core, i take back what i said about it replacing the V2 line. the core does not look like a a v2 core in any way.

Saw it being used in league, it looks really good. Strong backend and pretty clean through the front. The carry was real good

That new asummetric core....does it look like the Wolf core? Because I loved that core design. Still think it was one of Ebonite's best.
