V2 Sweet vs Killer Instinct...
« on: September 22, 2006, 09:21:44 PM »
I got these two used balls for free and since both are pearl-reactives I'm wondering if they are to similar or if they in anyway complement each other?

The Killer Instinct (dependent on drill pattern) should handle more oil. I just drilled up a NIB V2 Sweet, that ball hates oil and loves friction. My V2 Sweet has the pin right below my middle finger with no void hole (5 inch pin to PAP). When the Killer Instinct begans to become too much ball for you, then I think you can switch to the V2 Sweet.

The V2 sweet turned out to be a surprisingly mild ball for many a bowler.  It is generally a remake of the original V2 pearl.  Having thrown both the sweet and the pearl with similar layouts, even though the pearl has 300 or so more games on it than the sweet, it was still 2-3 boards stronger.

I agree with Dyno-Joe's statement in general, especially if you drill the sweet to go a little longer (which you can do - the core will help give you some read in the midane) and the killer instinct a little shorter, you should have a nice 1-2 combination for medium-heavy to medium-light lanes.

its hard to say because it depends on your style of bowling. just by looking at the pic i would say it would give you more of an arc reaction, but that v2 sweet was sensitive off the breakpoint. i had one identical to that one and seemed to be hit or miss.

good luck i hope they work out.
