SR300 or Overtime?
« on: August 09, 2006, 06:32:56 PM »
Hello,

I am looking for a decision help in the Ebonite ball range. My objective: I am looking for a solid reactive ball to replace my 1500 grit Vicious Attack as a control and fall-back piece. The VA fits very well between my Shock & Awe and Sahara, and handles more oil than some other balls I have in my arsenal's middle segment (Trauma, Eraser Particle Pearl) while still being able to work on late games on oily lanes with carrydown. Hard to replace...

I think I will go with an Ebonite ball this time, and my 1st choice has become the new SR 300: medium RG, lower differential, and a weaker Scalien core derivate which I like very much from my XXcel. Advertised as being clean in the front end, quite long but with some back end pop, this seems a good replacement for my VA.

I also have an eye on the Overtime - it uses the Bomber coverstock, has also a medium RG, but more differential and a symmetric core. I guess it will be "rollier" by design and reacting earlier? Additionally, I haven't found the surface prep for the Overtime. I guess it is sanded, but at which grit?

Any direct comparison between these 2 balls available yet, or basic thoughts about them for my objective? Any feedback would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
