and the saga continues my big one
« on: June 25, 2006, 11:10:38 AM »
ok ok ok i know I am forbidden from posting anymore about my big one <ohh that almost sounds dirty, oops I digress.Anyway I shot with it today in a tourney where there was a decent amount of oil outside 10 and a little less inside so it was basically a down and in shot. I shot 689 to qualify after a dismall 550 first squad both with the big one. Ended up having to flatten out my hand and let the ball roll up 10 . This is generally, I am learning the best way to shoot this ball, the way its drilled.
So I make it into the semis and shoot 661 to finish in the 4th spot, still with the big one still playing pretty much the same shot.
Now the finals. The lanes are broken down so i decided to go to a weaker ball. Picked up my phenom unleashed ,but the shot was still a bit too touchy. I moved right and got heavy ,moved right and got light ,So i went weaker again to my assassin and the shot was still tight so i had to watch my speed or tap city.Eaked out a 212 then a 205 to get me to the third spot. Now mind you I still have the big one on the lanes and i am using it for my ten pins and 7 pins.Bowling for 2nd now and I am all over the place. MIssed the 10 pin first frame then a strike. Next shot 1 2 7 chop it in high meanwhile my opponent is striking like mad. Get up in the 9 still fishing and spare Game over.
So now I am in the 10th with nothing to loose and my big one says to me move up on the approach and see what i can do < now naturally i am thinking the ball is going to go way high since my other stuff from here was either high or light.Strike first ball always in the tenth right, naturally i fill the 10th and to my dismay if I had stayed with the big one and kept up my speed I would have been just fine. So I finished third and learned a little something about myself and the ball. So again I will admit this is not a bad ball . There was a guy using one with his pin under ring ,but his cg and mb were stacked with his cg next to his thumb and his reaction and mine were totally diff. His ball had a more pronounced move off the break and his ball was polished . My ball is at 2000 matte and his was a good 4 boards stronger. I think I am gonna have it plugged and redrilled before the tourney next week . I think there is more in this ball and i want it.

Agree.. mine is drill long and hard arc.. on a medium heavy pattern (about 50 units in the mid and 10 units/11 feet long on the first 6 boards, I started from the twig all the way to a drop zone of 18th on the foul line in about 16 games.

pretty versatile.. good to hear you and the ball getting to know each other.. its just like getting married.. heh heh
