Stinger 2-Piece Low Flare Particle
« on: August 11, 2015, 12:38:46 PM »
I was rummaging through my stash of balls in the garage, and ran across an undrilled gem I forgot I had -- the Stinger 2-Piece Low Flare Particle. Here is the ball for anyone not familiar:

I was a big fan of the Stingers in the early-2000s, and had used a few of the pearls extensively. Does anyone here have any experience with the Stinger Particle? The ball has been sitting in it's box for 12 years, so I'm not expecting many responses. Still, any input would be appreciated.

Was a great rolling ball at that time. The particle coverstock helped it roll a little earlier with a smooth continuation in the backends. This will stick work on today's lane patterns, but it will most likely be a medium-lighter pattern ball.

If you have the original box, the market value is around $160-180 for the right buyer. Either way that was a great rolling ball back in it's heyday - same goes for all of the Stinger Low Flare series!

Thanks Michael. I figured it would be a medium-lighter pattern ball by today's standards. I could see it being effective for the burn on many longer format PBA tournaments.

I have everything original -- the box, plastic bag, drilling instructions, and a warranty card that no longer has any value.  ;D

But I didn't buy it to someday sell it. I went back through my records, and I paid $150 for the ball with drilling. It wouldn't make sense to sell it and at best break even. I'll most likely drill it up in the next year or so. I liked many of the original particle cover formations.

Thanks again for the input.
