One of my sons is looking to get a couple new balls. He sw the deal Buddies has on 2 Ebonite balls and is thinking about those. He is also looking at other balls, but I am wondering if there is anything in Ebonite that would work for him

He is basically a hard thrower 18-19mph (we ae trying to get his speed down), maybe 250 revs. On a light pattern he does well. But on medium or heavy he struggles.

Is there anything that you guys might suggest he try? Right now he has a Total Inferno, Mammoth and Finish. He wants to get rid of the Total and the Mammoth.

Are you really sure that the Mammoth is not just burning up early?

It is not only a low RG (2.49), it is also a high load of Particles in an Activator base AND it has a VERY rough surface at 400 grit. If that ball is not getting into a strong early roll on oil, then few will. Yes, there are other strong popular oil balls, but how much stronger (early bite in oil, NOT big hooking) than the Mammoth can they really be???
Others may hook more and look like more, but few will bite the lane as early.

Most people get rid of it because it does not APPEAR to be hooking. 99% of the time, it's hooking too early because there's not enough oil.
