big one
« on: March 19, 2006, 02:04:47 PM »
ok i know u guys are probably tired of me whining ,but i have no friends and u have the option not to read or comment, any whoo, has anyone encountered a problem with the finger grips and thumb slug shrinking in this ball.I know it is probably a weird question but i ask because i cant get in the ball but i have no problem getting in my other stuff. I bowled with it thursday night and friday i couldnt get in it. today i could get in it ,but i couldnt get out of it. Maybe its a case of the ball saying i am not even gonna let this below avg. lousy bowler use me .A case of the ball rejecting the lowly bowler, lol,i wouldnt even blame it.

I'll agree with Paul, weather or your hand/fingers swelling. I have a Hawg Wild that fits great, XXcel is a bit tight, when my thumb swells, same slugs, as close to the same size, but just a hair smaller, so any change in weather or thumb swells just a bit, I notice it in the XXcel..it happens.

The ball will only do as you make it, it doesn't hate you !! Well, it might, if you don't keep it clean..lol

I have had one other thing happen. If it is yur finger inserts. the bit used to make the holes could have been worn more than when your other stuff was drilled. This will compress the inserts and make them tighter. I argued for 15 minutes with a guy that worked in a proshop about this. He kept saying that a (whatever size bit) is always that size. I work for a company that has a machine shop and my dad is a machinist as well as some of my friends. A bit wears no matter what. I finally just sanded the holes out just a tiny bit by hand and it fits better.

I had tried taking inserts that fit out of a ball and put them in this one and they were still tight and the ones that were tight were just fine in the other ball. Just my 2 cents.

i use an exacticator thumb so all my thumbs are as identical as possible and i still have to add/remove tape depending on climate or how many games i bowled.

You can avoid this problem by not using grips.
