This maybe Old news to some but I just found out these balls have the same coverstock.

According to who?
Ebonite's site says GB 10.7 for the One and Phazed Bomber Reactive for the Overtime.

Are you saying that Phazed Bomber Reactive is the same as GB 10.7?

from reliable source that works for ebonite. Know I understand why the Overtime is a great ball for the price.

The cover on the Overtime is same as the XXXCEL. Nothing like The One.
-
I think your source made a mistake and said the One, but it's the same as the XXXcel.

XXXcel-Phazed Bomberâ„¢ reactive sanded with 1000-grit Abralonâ„¢
Over Time- Phazed Bomber Reactive
One- GB 10.7
This is what the ebonite web site says
--------------------
if all else fails, just throw it.
-
The One is GB 10.7
The Overtime is Phazed Bomber Reactive
I'm sure it was just a matter of the Ebonite Rep saying the wrong thing by accident, or Lonce mishearing him. As to the breakpoint shape showing the difference, this MAY be a valid reason for the difference, but remember, the one has a factory fniish of 4000 + polish, while the overtime is dull. Also, the One has a strong asym core, while the Overtime does not. The Overtime coverstock may actually hook less in oil and more in dry, but the differences I mentioned may make it appear that the GB 10.7 is more skid flippy.

I was told the same thing. Just the core in the overtime is that much weaker!

I love Ebonite balls, but I would hate to think that some rep/worker is passing on wrong info or that the folks that set up the site info are misleading people. If either were the case, I'd have to rethink my use of their balls. Not that my changing companies would break them, but I just can't stand being lied to no matter what the case was.
Maybe someone from Ebonite can/will clear up the confusion.

I actually heard the same thing, supposedly it's a secret of Ebonite's, much like the V2 Sanded "secret"...

No, the Overtime has the core of the Big Time. It moves more than the one, just not as sharp.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------I second this statement. Actually its stronger than the one

Maybe Ron Hickland can chime on this.

The core in the overtime is not necessarily that much weaker, I figure it is alot more rolly. Take a look at the #'s:
16lbs.
Overtime: rg:2.51 diff:.050 mass bias diff:.005
The One: rg:2.51 diff:.037 mass bias diff:.027
Note the huge descrepency in mass bias differential and rg average. The One is not much stronger or much weaker, it just has the potential to be so much more angular.
It would be very interesting if the coverstocks are actually the same, and its just an insider secret, I'd really like to hear what any Ebonite Rep has to say on the issue.

So, Ronald, does this mean you have tried the one's core with phased bomber cover, or have you tried the overtime core with the GB10.7?
I really like the look I get from the big time/big time pearl/game time/overtime core and would look forward to trying a GB10.7 ( or the newer one, GB11.? ) with those reaction characteristics to it.
