The ball doesn't ignore carrydown, but I find it works well on such lane conditions. A typical ths with carrydown, to me, is defined as a lane condition that has a lighter volume of oil in the heads and the midlane, however a heavier volume on the backend, with, obviously more length. Most equipment tends to "back up" on such a lane condition. The ball hooks, but without angularity and continuation, and usually too early. Said in another way: the ball's hooking zone seems to be expanded, rather than being clean, roll and direction change, the ball has a short skid phase, followed by a premature roll phase, and a late, weak direction change.
I find that the One works ok oob on this condition, but is much better with surface adjustments. I sanded mine down to 1000 and applied storm xtra shine. The ball, in this surface is very good on carrydown. It allows the ball to get through the heads cleanly , and there is angularity that is unparalleled on the backend. The ball really slices the carrydown. I would see the Big One as a ball that will cut carrydown also, but with a heavier, longer, initial volume of oil.
